DancingonThePeak wins at Mornington.
On Saturday November 19th at Mornington, Jason Warren produced 2 first starters in the first two races of the day, and walked away with victories in both races.
The first was the speedy Anaba filly DANCINGONTHEPEAK (Anabaa USA x Twirling Heights NZ) raced by long time stable supporter and highly respected bloodstock agent Robert Roulston. DANCINGONTHEPEAK headed into the race with only a modest 11th of 12 in an October Cranbourne trial to her name. However, lining up in race 1 (the Quick Chef Maiden Plate over 1016m), Jason had the filly quite forward for her first up assignment, and she certainly didn’t disappoint.
Craig Robertson did a nice job to utilise her natural early speed and have her traveling outside the leader, and under a good hold, for the majority of the race. On the turn she still looked to be full of running and quickly ranged up outside the leader and hit the lead, being given every chance to win. DANCINGONTHEPEAK handled the slow track well, sprinting quickly and breaking away at the 100m mark. She continued to find to the line to run out a convincing winner by just under half a length.
Her natural speed and professional manner should allow her to go on and win further races.
Congratulations to all the connections (Mr A W K Chow, Mr W C Chuck, Mr H S Fan) on a very pleasing first up win.
